A neighborhood community center that is near and dear to me is the Silver Lake Independent Jewish Community Center. Last week I attended a fundraiser for the SIJCC at the Mack Sennett Studios called the Cabaret. Hilarious entertainment, lovely setting, wonderful people, delicious food from local eateries... a little bit of the Borscht Belt in our hood. The Center is open to all faiths and provides wonderful opportunities for entertainment, discussion, education, spiritual growth, yoga. My family has been involved for over a decade.
