So, I'm with my family at Rosh Hashanah services on a glorious sunny California morning in Highland Park. We are at one of the oldest temples in the city. They don't even have parking. It's located on a residential street near Figueroa Street. This is the non-fasting part of the High Holidays, so during a break we stroll over to Fig. First we have lattes and avocado toast (I mean what else does one have for breakfast these days?) at the beautifully designed Civil Coffee, where I run into a fellow Member of the Tribe. It was later in the day and they had run out of sugary treats we had promised the kids. No worries! Walk a few more blocks to a San Francisco fave newly opened off of Fig, the fabulous Mr. Holmes Bakehouse...heaven.
